INFORMATION
-
Beaver Lake is located in
Benton, Carroll,Washington and Madison counties in N.W. Arkansas. Covering some 70 miles throughout the beautiful Ozark Mountains; connecting with the White River. With more than 400 miles of shorline, Beaver Lake covers over 28,000 acres. The average depth of the lake is 60 feet with depths reaching over 200 feet closer to the dam.- Beaver lake
has multiple species of game fish, however the most plentiful would
be crappie. crappie on beaver lake must be 10" long, but it is
not uncommon to catch crappie exceeding 15".
-
I have been fishing beaver
lake regularly since 1992 and I am the longest running Crappie Guide on the lake. I love to fish and to be out on the water, it never gets old! It is in my blood! I enjoy teaching what I know to others and sharing any tips and techniques I have learned over the years. On a trip with me you will also learn about fish habitat and the different cycles crappie go through throughout the year.
-
On our trip we will fish mostly open water, bluffs and docks. We can get out of the wind and rain! We will fish brush piles, standing timber and bamboo crappie condos. We will cast jigs, vertically fish jigs and use a minnow under a slip float in most cases. I primarily use spin cast reels with 6 pound test on ultra light B&M poles. Push button reels are available.
-
Other fish often caught while Crappie fishing on Beaver are: Walleye, Kentucky Bass, Largemouth bass, Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, Bream, White Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass & an occasional Striped Bass.
-
Crappie fishing can be good all year, but the best seasons are: March through June and late August through November.
-
Why we catch more fish than our competitors: We spend many days each winter putting out new habitat for the crappie to insure a higher catch rate. It is hard work but it pays off in the end with many limits being filled each year! Take a look at our photos pages to see a direct result of correctly placed fish attractors!
-
We will be fishing from a
2003 16.5 Lowe deep v fishing boat fully rigged for crappie or other
species.
-
I will provide gas, oil,
life vests, fishing rod's and reel's, tackle, and bait. We will also fillet and bag up your catch.
-
You may need to provide
food, beverages, warm clothes for cooler weather, rain
gear for ever changing weather conditions in N.W. Arkansas, camera,
and a valid
AR Fishing License. Or call 1-800-364-GAME.
- A guide trip would make the perfect gift.

SWEPCO LAKE
I also guide for trophy bass on Gentry's Swepco Lake October through April. Swepco Lake is heated by a coal burning power plant with water temps remaining from the 60's to 80's all winter. I use crappie tactics on these trips...live bait and light tackle. We will often catch bass 5 lbs and up as well as catfish and even lunker bluegill!
GROUPS
Groups of 4-5 you may charter 2 boats for a full day, split day or a half day.
